However, a class may only be made up within the same month in which the student is enrolled. Make up classes cannot be rolled over into any future months. Some enrollment classes do not have a make up option. Students need to contact the front desk or instructor to arrange a make up class. Any other options must be discussed with the instructor. Frequently Asked Questions
Why Should I Learn How To Dance?
Dancing has numerous well rounded benefits. The physical activity is great for your posture, flexibility, cardio fitness, and your waist line. Clinical research has also shown significant mental benefits that come from memorizing choreography, footwork, timing and learning to work with a partner. Additionally, there are the social benefits of new friendships, socialization, and overall higher self esteem and confidence.

Am I Too Old?
No one is ever too old to learn to dance. We have dancers in every age group and every level of ability dancing at our studio. There is always room to grow and learn at any age so if you can walk, you can dance.

How Long Will It Take?
Each person has their own learning curve. We recommend you feel very comfortable at one level before proceeding to a higher level. Ask your instructor if they think it's time for you to move up a level. Obviously, your success will depend greatly on your dedication to the style. The more you practice what you learn, the faster you will become comfortable with your style.

How Do I Register For Class?
Registration is a simple process and takes just a few minutes to complete. Either come by the front desk at STSDS where you consult our Customer Service, or check out the class schedule then give us a call at 012-222 3700. We can take your registration over the phone or online.

What Is Class Like At STSDS?
Most classes usually run for a full 60 minutes (or more) and occur in the evenings and on Saturdays and Sundays, as you'll see by browsing the Class Schedule page. Workshops and Introductory Courses all vary in times, check the schedule for the specific event you are interested in.

When Can I start?
Many of our classes are ongoing so you can start anytime you like. This means you drop-in to a beginner class if that’s your level, and when you feel you have improved to the extent that it is not challenging anymore, you move on. Basically, the class doesn’t progress level-wise, you move on to the next level class. The only exception to this is our courses, which do have open registration dates that are specified in advance.

Do I Need To Bring A Partner
No, a partner is not required to take any of our classes. Partner dancing classes are taught so that we rotate individuals every few minutes – this is a great way to meet new people and learn to dance with a variety of leads and follows.

Can I Student Try A Class
Yes you can. Please give us a call and let us set up a trial class of your choice so that you can test-drive before you commit. We'd love to meet you and welcome you to our family. This gives the dancer the opportunity to try out the class, meet teachers and decide whether or not the class is for them. After your trial, make sure to sign up for the class to hold your spot if you liked it! There is no obligation to continue, and there is nothing much to loose. And as they say, you will never know until you try.

What Level Should I Enrol In?
Attending a trial class or is a great way for you to experience other styles of dance and to find out if we're a good match for you. Otherwise, you may inquire with our front office staff as to which level may be best suited. If you do sign up for a class and it is not the appropriate level, simply talk to the instructor at the beginning of class and ask them what you should do. Students enrolling into the RAD Ballet classes with previous training will be assessed by our principal to ensure placement in the appropriate level.

What If I Can't Catch Up?
Most of our students find our class pace just right. However, everyone learns at a different pace. If you find the class difficult, please do not hesitate in asking questions during class so that the instructor can assist you. Additionally, always remember that practice doesn’t end at the end of class. Private lessons are a great option to assist you in understanding and executing the movements covered in the classes as well as improving your technique.

What Are Private Lessons?
Private lessons are personal classes specifically catered to the student(s). Private classes are usually one instructor per student or per couple. We also offer private lessons for small groups interested in learning privately. Please ask us about our “small group privates” for further details.
