Groove & Freestyle
This class is to get your body moving and grooving. For those people who have gone out wanting to dance, but said they didn't know how, this class is for you! Groove & Freestyle class is a non-choreography class that focuses on repetition, which helps progress a dancer into a more individual and defined style, and gives a dancer the skills and basis knowledge of movement and choreography. Groove & Freestyle practices the learning of the fundamentals styles such as Locking, Popping, Hip Hop, Breakdance, House, and more. Each style has it’s own foundations, qualities, techniques, and history.

Hip Hop Foundation
Hip Hop is the style that most people associate with Street Dance. There are different ways in which Hip Hop is presented depending on the type of Hip Hop music it is danced to. Understand the basics such as how to bounce, groove, wave, and find your own individual and organic connection to the music within the language and expression of street styles and hip hop dance.

Breakdance Foundation
Breakdance, also called breaking or b-boying/b-girling, is an athletic style of street dance. It is a style of dance that originated in the United States in the 1970s. It took form in the lively block parties in the Bronx, emerging from hip hop culture, and is characterised by acrobatic movements, stylised footwork and the key role played by the DJ and the MC (master of ceremonies) during battles. In this class, no matter your experience, you will have the opportunity to learn breaking from a passionate instructor - including top rocks, get downs, footwork, power moves and freezes.

Popping Foundation
Popping is one of the more technical styles, that takes a lot of training to develop the understanding and the muscle control. Because of popping's cultural Boogaloo roots, popping developed before Hiphop's cultural movement and helped influence the tradition of styles of hip hop dancing. Popping and related styles such as waving and tutting have also been incorporated into the electronica dance scene to some extent, influencing new styles such as liquid and digits and turfing.

Locking Foundation
Locking is a style of funk dance, which is today also associated with hip hop. The name is based on the concept of locking movements, which means freezing from a fast movement and "locking" in a certain position, holding that position for a short while and then continuing at the same speed as before. It relies on fast and distinct arm and hand movements combined with more relaxed hips and legs. The movements are generally large and exaggerated, and often very rhythmic and tightly synced with the music. Open to everyone, this class is all about having fun and improving!

Contemporary
Contemporary dance history has its roots in the 20th century when American dancers rebelled against the strict rules of ballet in order to develop a more natural way of dancing. Amongst others in Central Europe, were Rudolf Laban, Harold Kreutzbeg and later Mary Wigman and Kurt Joss. In the USA there were Ruth St, Denis and Ted Shawn, Isadora Duncan and later Doris Humphrey, Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham and Robert Cohan. The contemporary dance class introduces total beginners to the world of contemporary dance and self-expression drawing upon elements of contemporary technique in a structured, progressive, incremental curriculum. Students can expect to improve balance, posture and alignment, through movement sequences and technical exercises that develop over the course period.

Choreography
Choreography is a mix of clean, up-to-date moves based on hip hop, house, jazz, tap, locking and popping to create challenging choreography that encompasses how the style has evolved. Dancers are meant to look like they are unwinding, unraveling and floating. Expect isolations, slow, fluid movements like gliding and body waves and contemporary-inspired turns.
