What To Wear & Bring

Attire & Preparations

We invite all students to arrive in clean, well-fitted attire that allows for ease of movement and supports proper technique. Jewellery should be kept minimal (only where necessary), and makeup should remain light and natural. For your comfort, we recommend bringing a water bottle, a small towel, and a change of clothing. Should you require any guidance, our team will be pleased to assist you.

Dress Code by Discipline

Ballet & Modern

Elegantly fitted attire is essential, such as a leotard with tights or a fitted top paired with leggings. Ballet students are required to be in full ballet attire—including leotard, tights, and ballet shoes by the second month. Hair must be neatly secured in a classical bun.

Contemporary

Attire should be comfortably fitted, allowing freedom of expression without excess fabric. Sports bras or shorts worn alone are not permitted. Classes may be taken barefoot, in socks, or with foot undeez. Knee pads are recommended for added support.

Heels

Attire should reflect both confidence and control, while remaining comfortable and secure. Low heels or non-platform styles are preferred to ensure stability and technique. Knee pads are recommended.

Street Dance

Relaxed, non-restrictive streetwear is encouraged, allowing for dynamic movement. Clean sneakers are required. Hard-soled shoes, sandals, and slippers are not permitted.

Conditioning

Streamlined, stretchable activewear is recommended to support full range of motion. Students may bring their own yoga mat or use one provided by the studio.

Zumba

Breathable activewear paired with supportive sports shoes is ideal. Hard soles, sandals, and slippers are not permitted.

Studio Dance Shop

Our Studio Dance Shop is conveniently located on Level 3, right next to our studio lounge at Sole To Soul Dance Studio, offering easy access for both students and visitors. Our shop carries a carefully curated selection of dance essentials, including official studio uniforms, examination wear, leotards, tights, ballet flats, and pointe shoes. Students can also find a range of ballet attire suited to each level, such as character shoes, character skirts, and hair accessories from leading dancewear brands.

To ensure proper fit and comfort, pointe shoe fittings and uniform fittings are available by appointment, allowing our team to provide personalised guidance and support. We are open during regular studio operating hours, making it convenient to pick up everything needed for classes, rehearsals, and examinations in one place.
