Royal Academy of Dance
Overview
At Sole To Soul Dance Studio we enhance our student’s education through the highly respected Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) graded and vocational examinations. The Royal Academy of Dance is one of the largest and most influential dance education and training organizations in the world with more than 13,000 members spread across 79 countries. The examination syllabus is taught to more than a quarter of a million students around the globe and is one of the most widely used classical ballet syllabi in professional academies and college dance programs. Students will start with our Baby Ballet dance curriculum, move through Pre-Primary and Primary levels and then into five Graded and six Vocational Graded levels. Students can move from Graded Examinations to Vocational Graded Examinations at an appropriate time; or they can study both pathways simultaneously.

Who is it for?
  • Children ages 4 years and up
  • Children with or without prior experience
  • Children showing a keen interest in the dance
  • Able to follow instructions
  • Ready to participate and listen to a teacher

If your child decides they would like to participate in the RAD examinations, they will be expected to maintain and follow through on certain requirements, including but not limited to:

  • Continued consistent attendance in their classical ballet class
  • Participation in the mock (practice) RAD examinations
  • Possible private or small group lessons should the teachers feel extra practice is needed

Baby Ballet
The Baby Ballet curriculum is designed for young dancers to begin exploring the art of dance through exposure to ballet steps, musicality, and self-expression. Students will be immersed into the beauty of ballet during weekly classes with our Royal Academy of Dance certified faculty. Class curriculums encourage the development of skills such as muscle strength, coordination and focus, all while providing a safe environment for children to blossom and enjoy artistic expression. Students are required to commit to one class per week. Upon completion, students will be equipped for entry into the Royal Academy of Dance Pre-Primary In Dance and Primary In Dance levels where they will continue their training and begin preparations for the annual graded examinations, intensive training, or other after school programs.
