About SDC
Established in 2010, the Sole To Soul Dance Company (or more commonly known as "SDC") Program is a one- to two-year pre-professional program comprised of dancers chosen from the studio classes and auditions. SDC is an intensive training program and performance company geared towards training those who aspire to dance professionally, to pursue higher education, teach dance or simply for those who love dance, enjoy discipline and hard work and want to be pushed to reach their full potential.

SDC Elite
Adults or ages 16 to 25
This team is comprised of our most elite dancers at SDC in terms of technique, focus, dedication, and knowledge. The program provides a comprehensive training curriculum for serious students in a variety of street dance techniques to create a confident, artistic, and versatile dancer.

Our all girls company is comprised of the most talented female dancers in studio. Our dancers will join a sisterhood of amazing dancers and will partake in a curriculum dedicated to teaching Hip-hop and Street Jazz-influenced movements, while building confidence, and social skills.

The program is geared towards training those who aspire to dance, compete and perform breakdance professionally. The trainings will challenge our dancers to learn new moves and concepts, while building upon and mastering those they’ve previously learned in the beginner classes!

Our Kpop training program is structured to develop strong dance foundations, performance skills and stage presence in trainees who are looking to pursue their dreams in the entertainment industry, to participate in K-idol auditions and exposures in crew competitions and performances.

SDC Junior
Ages 8 to 15
Our SDC junior is the youngest dance division in our company. The training is specifically designed to provide young dancers with professional training and guidance in dance technique and performance, and exposures in solo/crew competitions and performances.

Kenneth was trained by the best teachers in the field, both locally and overseas. In his classes, you can expect to learn and practice the basics of hip hop technique that will help you bring your dance to the next level.

Ryan is a passionate advocate for the local dance community. Specializing in Street Jazz and KPop Girls, his love for the art inspired him to become an instructor and mentor to the future generation of dancers in Malaysia.

Who should apply?
We welcome dancers of all levels, including beginners! In order to get the most from our program and our schedule, we recommend dancers should have a minimum of 2 years of dance experience. We are currently seeking for male and female individuals between the ages of 16 and 25 who wish to pursue a professional career in dance. In order to be a seriously considered candidate for acceptance, you must:

  • have a minimum of 2 years consistent dance training in hip hop (or equivalent)
  • be able to fulfill the minimum contract duration (3-months probation plus 1-year contract)
  • be available for all trainings and technical classes

What is the schedule?
There will be a two (2) hour training class once per week. The training class will meet every Saturday from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at Sole To Soul Dance Studio. In addition to the weekly training class, our dancers are required to take a minimum of one technique class per week assigned by the Program Director.

What are the fees?
Participation in company is RM 220 per month for; 2-hour weekly training class and 1-hour weekly technique class. Company members will also receive 50% discount of all classes at Sole To Soul Dance Studio.

What disciplines will I train in?
Fundamental styles such as Locking, Popping, Hip Hop, Breakdance, House, and more.

What are the performing opportunities?
SDC receives many opportunities to perform. Choreography pieces are set by our Company Trainers, which we use for these events. Our dancers are required to perform at both Sole To Soul Dance Studio annual concerts and recitals every year. We will also compete at two to three regional dance competitions. Dancers may also be asked to perform in community events throughout the year such as local parades, nursing care facility visits, etc.
